Services
Design
Native Timberworks Carpentry and Design, LLC uses Chief Architect, the leader in BIM technology, to guide the design process. Initially, floor plans are drafted and then transformed into a 3D format. Using this state of art technology allows clients to do a virtual walk-through of their home, giving them a better perspective of the layout and design features. Any necessary adjustments to the floor plan can be made on the spot during the virtual walk-through and as the project unfolds.

Custom Construction
Whether your dream home is a custom home or a predesigned home, the Native Timberworks team will guide you and your family through each step of the construction process. Each step will be carefully planned and strategically executed. Excellent communication throughout the construction process is another integral piece that Native Timberworks excels at. The team will keep you informed of scheduling and pricing, and will also give you thoughtful recommendations that fit your needs and style.

Renovation
New construction is not always necessary if you're looking to give that house you love an updated look or feel. Building an addition or redesigning an existing part of your home is a great way to achieve that. Native Timberworks will meet with you personally at your home to discuss what your goals are. The Chief Architect program is used to create before and after sketches of your home, along with a virtual walk-through of the renovations. The Native Timberworks team does an exceptional job keeping your vision and budget in mind throughout the renovation process.

Projects

Lockes Island
Nestled on the picturesque Locke’s Island on Lake Winnipesaukee, this charming camp embodies the historic essence of lakeside living. After a tree sadly crushed the original house, the homeowners were determined to rebuild in a way that honored the lake’s timeless style. They thoughtfully incorporated materials from the original house throughout the interior, creating a unique blend of old and new.
To evoke the classic feel, the house features intricate gable end details and a traditional porch railing. The expended porch offers stunning northern views, and with the addition of storm windows, it can be enjoyed comfortably in both spring and fall. The second story, complete with a balcony, enhances the home’s aesthetic appeal.
Inside, the kitchen boasts a natural-edged walnut breakfast bar complemented by skirting made from the old siding of the original bunkhouse. The bathroom showcases a salvaged Queen-Anne- style window and the camp’s original front door. By adhering to the traditional elements and repurposing materials, this house is built to stand the test of time.

Colonial Cape

Step back in time with this beautifully restored 1746 Cape-style home, where historic character meets thoughtful modern updates. Every detail has been carefully preserved, showcasing original hand-hewn wood beams and three restored fireplaces that radiate warmth and charm. A traditional ‘Keeping Room’ offers a glimpse into the home’s rich past, while upstairs you’ll find an exposed chimney and century-old stenciling in the primary bedroom—true testaments to its heritage.
The adjacent barn, affectionately known as “The Rumpus Room,” adds even more character with original built-in bunks and classic wood paneling that speak to craftsmanship from another era.

The Village Store
The Gilford Village Store has been an important part of the Gilford community since 1836. In 2017 the country store came under new ownership and the transformation started. Knowing how important this building is to the town of Gilford, the goal was to bring the building into modern times while preserving its historic charm. The original floors were salvaged and repurposed as paneling on the interior walls as a way to showcase some of the stores history in the new space. Custom built-ins, display cases and coffered ceilings finish off the interior, creating a warm and inviting store and gathering place that the community is proud of.
